With over 35,000 hours of flight time spanning airline, military, corporate, and aircraft ownership experience, I bring a comprehensive and real-world perspective to every practical test.
My aviation career includes 40 years in the airlines, most recently as a Boeing 787 Captain, along with 21 years serving in the Air National Guard flying the C-130. I remain current in multiple aircraft including the Gulfstream G550, Challenger 300, and the Citation 500/525 series through the CJ line. This diverse background allows me to evaluate applicants not just to a standard—but to the level of professionalism expected in today’s aviation environment.
As a Designated Pilot Examiner, my role is to ensure each applicant meets the FAA Airman Certification Standards while maintaining a fair, consistent, and professional evaluation process. The checkride should not be a “gotcha” event—it is a validation of your training, knowledge, and decision-making ability.
I strive to create an environment where applicants can perform at their best. You can expect a structured, scenario-based evaluation that reflects real-world flying, with clear expectations and open communication throughout the process.
